The Veg Round

The Veg Round was founded by Sam and Harry, with their first deliveries going out in February 2024. The concept is simple: think of a milk round or a paper round, but with fresh fruit and veg from local farmers, delivered straight to the door on a regular weekly route through Cheshire and South Manchester.

Working closely with growers across Cheshire and Lancashire keeps food miles low, supports the local economy, and gives customers a fair, seasonal alternative to supermarket produce. Alongside the core fruit and veg boxes, the team now offers Bakery, Beverages, Kitchen Cupboard staples and Extra Veg add-ons — letting customers do a real chunk of their weekly shop locally.

Growing Good gave Sam and Harry a platform to launch on from day one, turning the idea into a working business in time for those first February 2024 deliveries.

Subscriptions sit at the core of the operation: customers sign up for a weekly or fortnightly box, with the freedom to pause or skip whenever they need to. That gives the team predictable demand, predictable routes, and a recurring revenue base to build on. Swaps add the flexibility — each customer can exchange up to two items per box before the Sunday deadline, keeping boxes feeling personal without disrupting picking and packing. Together, these features made it possible to launch quickly, keep customers happy, and scale the rounds steadily as the business has grown.
