Jack's Veg

Background

Jack's Veg is a regenerative market garden based in Canterbury, Kent — in the heart of the Garden of England. Founded in 2013, when Jack took a leap of faith and started a micro farm on less than two acres of leased land, the business has since grown into a thriving, community-focused operation with a clear mission: to bring honest, nutritious food direct from the soil to the doorstep.

Jack's Veg takes an ethical and holistic whole-farm approach to growing, with all produce raised chemical-free and regeneratively — drawing nutrition from composted wood chip, rotationally grazed livestock, cover crops, and well-rotted manure. Today, the farm grows more than 50 different types of seasonal fruit and vegetables, herbs, edible flowers, gourmet mushrooms, and micro salads, available through veg boxes, wholesale, and direct orders.

Jack's Veg holds the distinction of being Kent's first single-use plastic-free farm — a standard maintained since October 2018 — with all packaging 100% home compostable. A new generation of farming: deeply connected to the land, fiercely local, and committed to making fresh, seasonal food accessible to every household in the community.

How our platform helps Jack's Veg

Growing Good helped Jack's Veg transition away from a cumbersome platform — one burdened with manual admin and a frustrating customer experience — to a purpose-built website with a seamless subscription ordering system for their Food Boxes.

Previously, payments were managed through Direct Debit, creating confusion for customers around billing clarity and leaving little room for straightforward actions like refunds. By moving to card payments, the entire payment experience has been transformed: customers now have full visibility of their transactions, and processes like refunds are handled simply and transparently.

The result is a platform that works harder for both the business and its customers.
